Silas, the elder Strickland, has been dreaming of making a car company since he was 5 years old, but it took time to line everything up. He spent years building cars and furniture, working on bikes and engines, and getting his hands dirty. All the while, he was planning how to build this car.
As Si's plans took shape, he started consulting his younger brother, Stone. Stone has spent years helping Tesla expand internationally and building startups (his own and others). They have always been close, but the more they talked, it became clear they were ideal partners.
