2500mi Prototype Roadtrip
We've already started making our crazy idea a reality. Not only did we build a driving prototype, but we put it to the test with a 2500 mi roadtrip to SEMA and back.
We aren't your typical car company, so we aren't introducing the SpeedWagon the typical way. We're showing this car at every stage of the build process in it's realest form, instead of trying to show-off a shiny, non-functional concept car. We want you along for the ride with us.

Brothers Building Together
Silas, the elder Strickland, has been dreaming of making a car company since he was 5 years old, but it took time to line everything up. He spent years building cars and furniture, working on bikes and engines, and getting his hands dirty. All the while, he was planning how to build the car and make the business financially viable.
As Si's plans took shape, he started consulting his younger brother, Stone. While Si was working with his hands, Stone was helping Tesla expand internationally, and building startups (his own and others). They have always been close, but the more they talked, it became clear they were ideal cofounders.

Production Plan
A Practical Way To Start Production
To get up and running, we knew we had to get creative starting out since we don't have a billionaire's backing. We are building the company in two distinct stages to keep costs down.
In Stage 1, we operate similar to a restomod or coach builder. We strip a BMW E46 chassis bare and reinforce it. Then we install an entirely new drivetrain, interior, exterior, wiring, etc on it. We'll make a limited run (~50) of these Champion Edition, 1-of-1 SpeedWagons while we develop our own chassis for the Enthusiast Edtion. Stage 2, the Enthusiast Edition, is where the SpeedWagon becomes a production car. We keep the same drivetrain and design, but switch to our own chassis. This is where we ramp up production to the scale of 800-1000 SpeedWagons per year.

Partners
Partnering With Heritage
To make the SpeedWagon everything it can be, we've partnered with Brooks Stevens, the 90-year-old design and prototyping firm behind cars like the '62 Studebaker, original Jeep Wagoneer, and several custom cars for other automakers.
Not only are they an asset on design, but they are also helping streamline the prototyping and production process.

Mission
Rooted In The Car Community

Strickland Motor Co and the SpeedWagon was born out of Silas' deep love of driving and car culture, but it's for the entire car community. Most car companies aren't listening to enthusiasts enough and we want to change that.
We aim to be both active members of the community and support it whenever we can. It's why we show people inside our workshop and how we make decisions. It's our labor of love for the car community. This company will succeed because of our fans and their support. For drivers, by drivers.
